The Museum and Library of the Grand Lodge of Scotland

The Museum and Library at Freemasons’ Hall in Edinburgh, Scotland, is one of the hidden gems of the Masonic world. It contains priceless and irreplaceable Masonic documents from the 16th century as well as a huge range of other Masonic material including jewels, rare books, ceramics, glassware, aprons etc. So rich is the archive that the international Masonic Exhibition held at the Fine Arts Museum, Tours, France, during 2002, found it difficult to decide on the most important artefacts to display.

This lecture, supported by illustrative material (either as handouts or as computer images – laptop and data projector required), is a ‘tour’ of the most 'important' artifacts, for eaxample the Oldest Lodge Records in the World being those of the Lodge of Aitcheson's Haven which commence on 9th January 1599.
